The Tai Chi Dance Association
The Tai Chi Dance Association was founded in 1973 by Master T.T. Liang and Jonathan Russell.

Master T.T. Liang (Liang Tung Tsai) arrived in the United States in 1962 where he taught Tai Chi at the United Nations (with Cheng Man Ching). He was a major contributor to the introduction of Tai Chi to the West. On August 14th, 2002, he passed away at the age of 102. His book Tai Chi for Health and Self Defense published by Vintage Press, Random House in 1977 has become a classic text on Tai Chi Chuan.

Jonathan Russell, seniour and "eldest" student of Liang, has studied and taught Tai Chi Chuan in the U.S. for over 30 years. In 1973 he co-founded with Master Liang the Tai Chi Dance Association. During their years of collaboration they documented in photographs, film and video all of Liang's complete set of Yang style Tai Chi. Mr. Russell is the author of The Tai Chi Two Person Dance published by North Atlantic Books and the upcoming T.T. Liang's Tai Chi Chuan scheduled to be published by Ride Books. He is currently living in San Francisco where he gives workshops and lectures as well as writing books on Tai Chi.
